Traditional Dances
As part of the cultural activities organized by the Student Club of the Athens University of Economics and Business, the Traditional Dance Group offers students the opportunity to engage with Greek traditional dance. The aim of the dance section is to encourage students to become actively involved in and more aware of folk culture, allowing our cultural heritage to become a personal experience for everyone.
Classes take place twice a week at the Antoniadou Auditorium, where students are taught dances and songs from all the geographical regions of Greece. More specifically, the repertoire includes dances from Central Greece, Thessaly, Epirus, Macedonia, Thrace, the Peloponnese, the Ionian and Aegean Islands, Crete, as well as Asia Minor and Pontus.
In addition to the major annual event held at the Antoniadou Auditorium, where the group presents dances, customs, and traditions from different parts of Greece, the Traditional Dance Group can also participate in other events upon invitation, such as festivals and cultural events.
